About
With over ten years of experience as a Vocal Instructor and a truly amazing student success rate, Kathryn is the ‘go to’ person in Newcastle city centre for professional singing lessons, performance coaching and confidence building. Based within the creative quarter of the city, she is immersed in what is fast becoming a hotbed for musical talent.
She is a qualified Vocal Instructor and is certified with The Institute for Vocal Advancement. She has the pleasure of studying and being mentored by world class Mater Teachers Greg Enriquez, Spencer Welch, Guy Babusek and Geoffrey Skouson proteges of ‘Vocal Coach to The Stars’ Seth Riggs who taught Michael Jackson, Prince, Luther Vandross, Mariah Carey, Stevie Wonder and Whitney Houston to name a few.
Kathryn herself has coached singers who have gone on to gain major record deals, BBC radio one accolades, Brit Awards, number one records and appearances on primetime TV such as Greece Has Got Talent and The Jools Holland Show. She has also coached students through successful auditions to elite performing arts schools such as AADA in Los Angeles as well as working with London based sound art sculptors for exhibitions at The Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art.
She has a positive, can do attitude which is infectious and is the foundation from which her students thrive and grow in confidence-becoming their fullest selves and achieving their aspirations. This is built from her strong empathy skills and natural attunement to others which has been skillfully developed from her past work as a Psycho-therapeutic Counsellor for which she trained at The Northern Guild For Psychotherapy in Jesmond.
Kathryn also works with clients for spoken word and has recently completed training with the English School for Business and Social Etiquette where she has learned to teach accent neutralisation and received pronunciation (RP) which is available for those who feel that their strong accent has been holding them back.
Kathryn is a Vocalzone endorsed artist and Vocal Instructor who provide teas and pastels to aid vocal health.
